Gift cards
Gift cards tracks the balance on each card, what you have spent and when it expires. Expenses paid with a card come off its balance automatically.
Gift cards is off by default. Turn it on in Settings under Features, and Gift Cards appears in the sidebar.
Add a card
- Enter a name, the starting balance and the currency. The expiry date and notes are optional.
- If you set an expiry date, FinTarget shows the days remaining.
Spend from a card
- On the card, add a spend with an amount, a date and a note.
- Or add an expense, choose Gift Card as the payment method and pick the card. The spend counts against its balance.
The remaining balance is the starting balance minus your manual spends and the expenses linked to the card. When you split a bill and pay by card, the card is charged the full amount while the expense records only your share.
